Martin, Eurasian Crag (Ptyonoprogne rupestris)
Similar in size to a House Martin and very similar in plumage to a Rock Martin, this bird is identified by location and its generally drab appearance. Where it occurs it can be very common.
Where to see them
Southern Europe and North Africa. These photos were taken in Las Alpujarras, Spain and in the Camargue in France.
When to see them
Resident in the Alpujarras and much of Southern Spain, spreading further north in the breeding season.
What they eat
Feeds mainly on insects caught as it flies.
